CHRIS GABO is a Latinx playwright born and raised in Tampa, Florida to Colombian immigrants. He earned his M.F.A. in playwriting from the Yale School of Drama under Tarell Alvin McCraney, and his plays have been recognized by the Sundance MENA Theatre Lab, the O’Neill National Playwrights Conference, and the Cherry Lane Mentor Project with playwright Rajiv Joseph. Currently contracted to an overall deal with HBO, Chris wrote the “Eladio” episodes starring Anthony Ramos for the recently aired reboot of In Treatment. He is developing his own original projects, in addition to writing and producing television series with such producers as Sam Levinson (“Euphoria”) and Adam McKay (“Succession”).  Gabo’s involvement in music shares a seamless synergy with his background in film/TV. Past musical collaborations include Cakes Da Killa, Lazerbeak, DJ Trackstar of Run the Jewels, and more. He has opened for Ana Tijoux and DJ Rob Swift, while also licensing music to Hulu’s Broad City as well as the independent film Coldwater. He graduated with a double major in Dramatic Writing and Acting from NYU Tisch School of the arts and completed the two-year Meisner program at Maggie Flanigan Studio.
